SMS Text Messaging

E3 Aviation Association operates an SMS text messaging notification service for the E3 SkyPath platform (the "SMS Program").

Information collected for the SMS Program

How SMS information is used

We use your mobile phone number exclusively to deliver SMS notifications related to your E3 SkyPath account, including lesson schedule confirmations, weather-related schedule disruptions, compliance and certification expiration alerts, billing notifications, training milestone notifications, and emergency communications related to flight operations. The SMS Program is operational and transactional in nature; we do NOT send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

Sharing of SMS information

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent data are NOT shared with any third party, affiliate, or partner for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and SMS opt-in information will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own promotional or marketing use under any circumstances.

We share mobile phone numbers only with our SMS delivery service provider (Twilio) solely for the technical purpose of transmitting the SMS messages you have opted in to receive. Twilio is contractually obligated to handle this information in accordance with its own privacy and security obligations and is not permitted to use phone numbers for any other purpose.

SMS consent and opt-out

Users may opt in to receive SMS messages from E3 SkyPath through any of the following methods. In all cases the SMS consent checkbox is unchecked by default and must be affirmatively checked by the user to opt in.

  1. Self-serve order checkout at app.e3aviationassociation.com/order, where a phone number and SMS consent checkbox are collected during the order process.
  2. Book a Demo form at app.e3aviationassociation.com/book-a-demo, where a phone number and SMS consent checkbox are collected when requesting a demo.
  3. Account activation for users enrolled by a school administrator. The user receives an activation email and is presented with the SMS consent checkbox on first sign-in.

By opting in through any of these methods, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from E3 SkyPath. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message, or by updating your notification preferences in your account settings. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. For full SMS Program details, including help and opt-out keywords, see our SMS Policy.

SMS data retention

Mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in timestamps, and SMS delivery logs are retained for as long as your account is active, plus an additional period to comply with applicable record-keeping obligations and to handle disputes or regulatory inquiries. Specifically, SMS delivery logs are retained for seven (7) years to align with our FAA training record retention obligations.

Flight school relationship: If you are enrolled as a student at a flight school or aviation maintenance school that uses E3 SkyPath, your training records, lesson history, certifications, and related information are visible to your enrolled school and its authorized personnel (instructors, school administrators) as required to deliver your training. This is essential to the educational relationship.
